Support turtle conservation at Petrie Island by sponsoring a clutch of turtle eggs this summer!
As part of our ongoing turtle conservation efforts, the Friends of Petrie Island collect turtle eggs from the island and incubate them in collaboration with our partners at the Cumberland Public Library. This egg collection is done in partnership with the Canadian Wildlife Federation, with permits and expertise shared to ensure the health and safety of our native turtle population.
Your donation will directly support:
- Summer staff overseeing the turtle project
- Supplies for egg collection, incubation, and monitoring
- Public turtle release events and educational outreach
Pricing:
5 eggs – $15
10 eggs – $25
As a thank-you for your contribution, donors will receive early access to turtle release sign-ups. You’ll be emailed 48 hours before registration opens to the public, giving your family priority access to these popular events.
Turtle release dates are expected to be finalized in late July, and all sponsors will receive a personal email with an exclusive link to register.
