🌳 Kids’ Naturalist Sessions – Summer 2025
Come explore the wild side of Petrie Island! Join the Friends of Petrie Island for our interactive Naturalist Sessions—a fun and educational morning in nature designed for young explorers. See video. Each 2-hour session includes:
- A hands-on presentation on the theme of the day
- A guided nature walk
- A scavenger hunt
- A themed nature craft
Sessions begin at 10:00 AM and are tailored to suit the age group of participants. Programming is offered in both English and French, and themes are refreshed every two weeks. Week 1 sessions are for ages 3–8, and Week 2 repeats the same theme for ages 9–13.

💲 Program Cost
- $5 per child, per session
- Prepayment is required to confirm your spot
- Adults attend free but are asked to remain nearby during the session

Cancellation policy: Clients may cancel their bookings due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances. This applies to bookings for tents, tables, BBQ permits, or programming events. If a cancellation is made in advance, clients are eligible to request a refund, which will have an administrative fee deducted. The fee for processing a refund is $1 per reservation item (e.g. the fee for cancelling a program for 2 people would be $2.00). Refunds will be made in the same form as the initial payment. The fee will be deducted from the total amount of the refund.
Children’s Naturalist Program Registration
