2021 summer program
With the continued pandemic , the Friends of Petrie Island is not able to deliver the Children’s Naturalist program. HOWEVER, we will continue the Family and Friends Naturalist Program, which proved very popular last summer. Its mandate will be to teach and to promote the conservation of Petrie Island’s wildlife while following the safety rules of COVID-19.
Please: maintain physical distancing of 2 metres away from those not in your household, wear a mask of physical distancing is difficult, use good hand and respiratory hygiene, do not attend if you have symptoms or feel unwell.
Adult sessions following the same guidelines are also available.
FAMILY and FRIENDS NATURALIST PROGRAM
How is the Family and Friends Naturalist Program adapted to the pandemic?
– The sessions are going to be a themed interpretive session for households or social circles (Max 10 people).
– Adapted for families with and/or without children.
– Themes can be chosen by YOU from a variety of our most popular themes: Turtles, Amphibians, Insects, Plants, Trees.
– A guided tour of the various nature trails is also available.
Please follow COVID-19 guidelines: do not attend if having symptoms such as fever or cough or are feeling unwell, maintain 2 m physical distancing, and wear a mask if distancing isn’t observed
