FOPI will open the interpretive centre in the picnic area on:

In order to open these hours we require funds for staff. We use membership fees, grants and money from donations. At present we have about 60% of the funds required to open as listed above.
In addition we will have Theme days throughout the year as follows:

Wednesday morning work days – May to Oct: 9 – 12 noon. Maintenance and development projects. Everyone welcome. Or other projects such as: building canoe launch:
Trillium projects: observation platform and signage on Bill Holland Trail; Improved signage for wildflower garden and trails; New pamphlets and make information boards:
Present ongoing projects: turtle counts: frog counts (ACC Club)
Student volunteers: students can earn their volunteer hours at Petrie Island doing various odd jobs, such as: painting, clean up, habitat restoration, interpretive centre monitors, display preparation. We also work with youth organizations
FOPI is an organization dedicated to preserving and protecting Petrie Island through monitoring and education of the public. The organization opposes a bridge and marina at the park area. You can help support us by paying the annual membership fee of $10 or making a donation or volunteer your time for any of our activities.
